AGAR, High Gel
Agar, High Gel is a gelifying agent used for the cultivation of microorganisms in a laboratory setting. Agar is a phycocolloid composed of 70% agarose and 30% agaropectin, and extracted from red-purple algae, mostly Gelidium spp. Given its high strength (900-1000 g/cm2) compared to Agar, Bacteriological (550-950 g/cm2), this agar is especially indicated for applications in which it is necessary to reduce agar content while maintaining the desired gelling properties
