Chlamydospore Agar is used in the differentiation of Candida albicans from other Candida spp. fungi based on its ability to form chlamydospores. The Tryptan Blue dye is absorbed by the chlamydospores and imparts blue color. Ammonium Sulphate provides essential ions. Monopotassium phosphate serves as pH buffer. Biotin is a source for essential vitamins. Purified Polysaccharide acts as carbohydrate source for fungal growth. Agar is the gelifying agent.
