CLOSTRISEL AGAR (C03-110)

Clostrisel Agar is a highly selective medium for the recovery of Clostridium spp from clinical and other sources. The formulation is based on that of Tryptic Soy Broth with the addition of the reducing agents Sodium Thioglycollate and Sodium Formaldehyde Sulfoxylate to enable the growth of obligate anaerobes. The addition of Neomycine and Sodium Azide suppresses the growth of enteric bacteria, Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp., and most Gram-positive microorganisms (except Enterococcus), thus increasing the selectivity of the medium. Agar is the gelifying agent.
