Hemoglobin Powder is granulated dried bovine blood. It is specially prepared to be water soluble and autoclavable. It is primarily used as a supplement for GC Agar Base. It is prepared as a 2% solution and diluted to 1% when added to a sterile solution of GC Agar Base. The addition is performed after both components are sterilized separately and cooled to 45.0 50.0 ºC.
