Yeast Extract is a source of B-complex vitamins and minerals. D-Mannose is the fermentable carbohydrate. Sodium Citrate provides a ready source of energy. Sodium Chloride provides essential electrolytes and maintains the osmotic equilibrium. Dipotassium Phosphate serves as pH buffer. Ferrous Sulfate, Magnesium Chloride, and Magnesium Sulfate provide divalent cations that stimulate bacterial growth. Tween 80 is a surfactant and dispersing agent.
